Wolfsburg

A Lower Saxony city founded around a single car factory that grew into the headquarters and largest plant of one of the world's biggest carmakers, making the company the city's dominant employer and taxpayer by a wide margin. Almost nothing about the city predates the factory, giving it one of the youngest identities of any place this size in Germany.
