Villingen-Schwenningen

A Baden-Württemberg city formed by merging two neighbouring towns on the eastern edge of the Black Forest, historically a centre of German clock and precision-instrument manufacturing that shifted over time toward medical technology and electronics. The two halves keep separate old towns and identities, joined administratively but still felt by residents as two places rather than one.
