Ulm

A Baden-Württemberg city on the Danube known for its cathedral, whose steeple is the tallest church tower in the world, and for being the birthplace of Albert Einstein. The economy runs on precision engineering, pharmaceuticals and a growing research cluster around the university, in a city split by the river from its Bavarian twin on the opposite bank.
