Mülheim an der Ruhr

A leafier corner of the Ruhr on the river of the same name, long home to corporate headquarters offices even as its factories declined, including firms that grew into a major energy utility. Green space covers an unusually large share of the city for the Ruhr, and services and corporate offices have replaced most of the coal and steel that once employed it.
