Lünen

A northern Ruhr city on the Lippe river that grew around coal mining, its economy shifting toward logistics and smaller manufacturing since the last local pit closed. A comparatively green, low-rise layout and a position at the edge of the Ruhr's dense urban belt give it a quieter character than cities closer to the region's industrial core.
