Ingolstadt

A Bavarian city on the Danube built almost entirely around the car industry, home to the headquarters of a major premium carmaker and the plants and suppliers that surround it. The wealth that industry brings shows in some of the highest average incomes of any German city its size, though the economy's fortunes are tied tightly to the car market.
